Fees update November 2024
I have made the difficult decision to increase our fees significantly from 4th November 2024.
Funding for General Practice is no longer keeping pace with the increased costs of running a business and if we don’t remain fiscally viable there will be no business.
The costs of our services are lower for enrolled patients because the Ministry of Health subsidise the fee for enrolled patients. These subsidies do not cover the full costs of services that we provide, hence a fee is charged to patients.
Subsidies also mean that people with a Community Services Card (CSC) and their dependants aged 14 to 17 years who are enrolled with
us will pay less for standard consultations with their doctor or nurse and children aged 13 and under enrolled with us will have standard consultations free with their doctor or nurse. These fees are set by the Te Whatu Ora and have been unchanged for many years.
There will continue to be higher fees charged for extended consultations, procedures and extra services or materials that are provided. We are no longer able to absorb and subsidize increased costs for medical supplies and freight.
Covid -update October 2024
Covid infections continue to be present in our community.
We encourage anyone feeling unwell to follow the Ministry of Health guidelines.
You can find information about eligibility for antivirals at:-https://info.health.nz/conditions-treatments/infectious-diseases/covid-19/antiviral-medicines/.
From 1st October RAT tests are no longer available for us to order
for free from the Ministry of Health.
If you get sick between the time you made your appointment and the day of you appointment please phone us for advice so we can triage and manage your appointment.
Face Masks are no longer mandatory when in the practice but
we ask you to wear one if you are unwell.
